Unsecured Loans A Good Loan Alternative}

Submitted by: Varun Jhorad

The concept of borrowing and lending, in some form or the other, has always been an integral part of all social systems. Probably, the concept is as old as humanity itself, because human needs have always been diverse and multiple.

Nowadays, lifestyle is everymans maxim… Fulfilment of major and normal needs is the only aim. Based on that human needs can be sorted as:

– Major purposes like operation, extended treatments, late education fees and more

– Regular lifestyle requirements like home, business, health, education, wedding, vacation, holiday season, vehicle, debts, bad credit and more

– Lifestyle luxuries like spa treatment, cosmetic surgery, flying lessons and more

Of all, regular lifestyle requirements have made taking credit a regular practice. Typically, every loan seeker looks for a deal that affirms:

– No collateral, i.e., no deposit against the loan amount

– Lowest possible APR, i.e., interest rate + loan process charges

– Less paperwork, i.e., no red tapism

– Quick service, i.e., fast loan processing

– No immediate risks in the event of repeated defaults or non-repayment

The most certain way of getting a deal like that is by opting for an unsecured loan. This loan can be availed for most of the aforementioned needs without pledging collateral. This feature has made it very popular in the loan market.

Unsecured loans are ideal for people who:

– Are not capable of offering collateral, as they do not own (tenants) one or are living with their parents (students)

– Are not willing to get into property related legalities or risk their property for a small amount (homeowners or property owners)

– Have small monetary requirements, as offering collateral may not be necessary (regular temporary needs)

– Have urgent needs, as getting into lengthy property evaluation procedures may not be feasible (urgent needs)

No loan option is without a catch. In the absence of collateral, stakes are normally high for the creditor. Hence, the loan terms and conditions of an unsecured loan deal are usually non-negotiable. Typically, the:

– Amount a loan seeker can borrow is usually small

– APR (Annual Percentage Rate = Interest Rate + Loan Processing Charges) is generally high

– Payback terms are generally fixed

– Loan clauses are by and large non-negotiable

Unsecured loans are a great support for lifes routine needs, unexpected expenses, emergencies, and other needs. So, shop around and choose wisely.

Please note: You must have a clear idea of your requirement and financial standing in the market, as a thorough knowledge facilitates negotiations with the lender. Also, compare loans to make sure that you opt for the best loan alternative. Avoid hasty decisions.

West Ham rocked by stoppage time goal

Sunday, March 4, 2007

West Ham United 3 4 Tottenham Hotspur
Match Stats
Attendance 34966
Goalscorers for West Ham United Noble (16′), Tevez (41′), Zamora (85′)
Goalscorers for Tottenham Hotspur Defoe (51 (pen)), Tainio (63′), Berbatov (89′), Stalteri (96′)
Bookings (West Ham United) Nobel, Tevez, Bowyer, Neill, Konchesky, Quashie (Yellow (6))
Bookings (Tottenham Hotspur) Chimbonda (Yellow (1))

Tottenham Hotspur travelled to Upton Park earlier today to face West Ham United, currently the bottom team in the table. West Ham were 10 points adrift of relegation safety at kickoff, and desperately needed points to secure a stay in the Premiership for next season. Tottenham on the other hand have been enjoying a good run of play as of late, and had a chance to jump above Portsmouth into 8th position in the Premiership.West Ham started strongly in the match, desperately trying to bring the game to Tottenham with the support of their home fans urging them on. West Ham’s first effort came in the second minute, but keeper Paul Robinson was able to beat away the shot of Mark Noble. Things took a downturn for the Hammers several minutes later, when Matthew Upson was forced off the pitch after aggravating a calf injury, and was replaced by Calum Davenport. Dimitar Berbatov then had two great chances for Tottenham, as he went one on one with keeper Robert Green, but Green was able to stop the Bulgarians attempts both times. West Ham continued to press, and were rewarded with a goal on 16 minutes. Paul Konchesky’s pass was chested down by Argentinian Carlos Tevez, and Mark Noble half-volleyed the ball into the back of the net. Tottenham nearly got an equilizer only minutes later after a defensive error by West Ham, but Berbatov’s shot was again saved by Green. More chances came for both sides in the forms of Defoe for Tottenham and Harewood for West Ham, but the next goal would come through the young Carlos Tevez. Michael Dawson fouled the Argintinian on the outside of the 18 yard box, and Tevez curved the ensuing free kick in under the crossbar. The goal was Teves’ first since joining West Ham at the beginning of the season. He was booked for his goal celebration as he ripped off his shirt and ran into a group of cheering fans.Tottenham made a change to start the second half, substituting Tom Huddlestone for Hossam Ghaly, and Huddlestones prescence helped Tottenham to control the midfield. They used their control to its potential, and Aaron Lennon was able to earn a penalty after being brought down by Lee Bowyer in the area. Jermain Defoe stepped up and slotted the ball past Green to cut the Hammers lead in half. Spurs continued to press for an equilizer, and got it in the 63 minute as Lennon flicked a Berbatov cross into the path of Tainio, and the Finnish international volleyed the ball past Green. The tying goal seemed to wake West Ham up, and Bobby Zamora and Keppa Blanco were added to the mix to try and save the 3 points for the home side. West Ham got their goal, and Tevez was involved again as his cross was headed home by substitute Zamora. As 90 minutes approached, Tottenham won a free kick on the edge of the box, and Dimitar Berbatov stepped up to the plate. Several of Berbatov’s attempts had been blocked by keeper Green already, but he would not be denied this time as he curled the ball into the top left corner, leaving the goalie helpless. Tevez again threatened Tottenhams goal, but his shot flew just wide. West Ham would be left to rue their missed chances when Defoe’s shot was parried by Green, but the ball was tapped in by Canadian Paul Stalteri, giving the visitors their first lead of the game, and soon earning them all 3 points. The goal came just over 5 minutes into stoppage time, and there was no chance left for West Ham to equilize.West Ham will continue their battle to stay in the Premiership in two weeks time against Blackburn, while Tottenham is due for an UEFA cup battle against Braga.

Neanderthals ‘knew what they were doing’: Archæologist Dr Naomi Martisius discusses her findings about Neanderthals’ behaviour with Wikinews

Saturday, May 23, 2020

Last month, a study conducted by archæologist Dr Naomi Martisius and other researchers concluded Neanderthals living in Europe tens of thousands of years ago were more sophisticated than previously thought. The now-extinct species used to carefully select bones from a particular animal species to manufacture their bone tools, the research showed. The research was published on May 8 Nature’s Scientific Reports journal.

Dr Martisius and her team used five bone tools discovered from Neanderthals’ sites in southwest France for this research. Four of these bone tools were found in a site called Abri Peyrony and the other one was from Pech-de-l’Azé I. These tools were just a few centimetres in size and were about 50 thousand years old, Dr Martisius told Wikinews. Microscopy analysis of these bone tools called lissoirs (smoothers) indicated Neanderthals used these tools for working animal skin to leathers.

The study stated the fauna of the site was dominated by reindeer remains, almost 90%. Despite the overabundance of reindeer in that time, Neanderthals used ribs of large bovids for making lissoirs. Dr Martisius told Wikinews this was likely due to the physical characteristics of the bovid ribs, which were “thicker and stronger” as compared to the “thin and flimsy ribs” of reindeers. In order to check the origins of the bone tools, the researchers used a technology called non-destructive Zooarchæology by Mass Spectrometry (ZooMS).

Instead of damaging the bone artefacts in order to discover its origins, the researchers collected collagen from the plastic containers in which these artefacts were kept in. Collagen is a type of protein. These bone artefacts were kept in plastic containers: some were kept for about five years, some for just five months. During this time, the collagen proteins from bone tools were stuck to the walls of its plastic containers. The collagen samples collected from the walls of the containers are broken into smaller molecules called peptides by using a chemical enzyme called trypsin.

After the trypsin has broken collagen fibres into peptides, it is sent for analysis. Peptides are analysed using a technology called Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) Time-of-Flight mass spectrometer (ToF MS). Matrix is a coloured compound. The acidic peptide is mixed with matrix, which vapourises, and peptides are released in the air. They are positively-charged particles which travel across a vacuum tube in an electric field. Depending on the weight of peptides, these molecules reach the end of the vacuum tube at different instances of time, forming a spectra. These graphs are like unique fingerprints of a species: they are different for different species of animals. Looking at the database of such graphs, taxonomic identifications of the collagen proteins came be made.

All four bone tools from Abri Peyrony gave positive results and showed that the bones were made from large bovids, even though reindeer were more abundant during that time. One of the advantages of using bovid ribs over reindeer’s thin ribs was the bovid ribs would be more resistant to breaking during flexion, Dr Martisius said.

Dr Martisius said such non-destructive ZooMS analysis was previously conducted, but for tools no older than a few centuries. She said that such an analysis had never been previously conducted for artefacts so ancient.

Wikinews caught up with Dr Martisius to discuss this research in-depth.

SpaceX scrubs Falcon I rocket launch

Monday, November 28, 2005

SpaceX called off the much-delayed inaugural launch of their new Falcon 1 rocket on Saturday from Kwajalein’s Omelek Island launch site. The intent was to launch the U.S. Air Force Academy’s FalconSat 2 satellite, which will monitor plasma interactions with the Earth’s upper atmosphere and magnetosphere.

The launch was delayed, then finally cancelled after an oxygen boil-off vent had accidentally been left open. The oxygen was unable to cool the helium pressurant, which then proceeded to evaporate faster than it could be replenished. A main computer issue, probably serious enough to cause a scrub on its own, was also discovered.

This long-anticipated flight was originally expected to be launched in January 2005, however a series of setbacks forced a series of delays, with the flight most recently scheduled to be in early 2006. It was intended to be launched from the Kwajalein atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The maiden voyage was originally intended to launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California with a Naval Research Laboratory satellite and a Space Services Incorporated space burial payload.

A compilation of brief news reports for Saturday, December 20, 2008.

The United States government has announced that it will give US$17.4 billion in loans to help three of the nation’s automobile makers – Chrysler, General Motors, and Ford – avoid bankruptcy.

The money will be taken from the $700 billion bailout package originally intended to rescue US banks. General Motors will get $9.4 billion and Chrysler $4 billion before next year. Ford stated that it wants to get by without government aid.

President George Bush said that it would not be “a responsible course of action” to allow the companies to collapse.

Portugal overcome Netherlands 1-0 on way to quarter-final

Sunday, June 25, 2006

Portugal beat the Netherlands 1-0 in a hot-tempered round of sixteen battle in Nuremburg, Sunday.

Russian referee Valentin Ivanov warmed up for an active evening of arm-raising with yellow cards in the second and seventh minutes. Mark Van Bommel and Khalid Boulahrouz had crashed two heavy fouls on Christiano Ronaldo; the second left a stud mark on his right thigh.

At the end of 96 minutes the yellow card count was 16 and the sides had nine men each. The four players sent off was a total that set a new Fifa World Cup record. This came as the 2006 tournament had already seen two games with three red cards. All four red cards were shown for two cautionary acts.

Following the second Boulahrouz foul Ronaldo received treatment and would be substituted before half time.

However; Ronaldo was involved in a wonderful move that lead to Portugal’s game-winner. On 22 minutes he fed Deco, Deco crossed low to Pauleta; Pauleta laid it off, and Maniche side-stepped a defender to hammer past Edwin Van Der Sar from 12 yards. Maniche was spared his second yellow card, and subsequent, expulsion when the referee decided not to execute the FIFA guidelines for leaving the pitch during celebrations of a goal.

Portugal also scored first blood when Ivanov’s red card was brandished at Costinha for stopping a pass with his arm, after he escaped a second yellow card just minutes earlier after his second rough tackle of the day.

Though Portugal looked dangerous on the break the game was dominated by the Netherlands who had over 60 per cent of ball possession.

In the second period there was less flow and more stoppages. The main incidents were violent and many times players surrounded the referee adding to the disruption.

On 59 minutes there was shoving after Portugal was awarded a free kick in shooting range of Edwin Van Der Sar’s goal. In the scrum Luis Figo gave a headbutt to Van Bommel but was only shown a yellow card. Three minutes later the same Figo appeared to walk into an upper arm from Boularouz and Boularouz was sent off.

Deco was next to go with two cards in quick succession. Ricardo Carvalho made a lunge to block one of the Netherlands 20 shots at goal. The Portuguese didn’t stop for treatment, so the referee blew his whistle so the defender could get treatment.

Netherlands bucked the informal tradition of giving the ball back and Deco’s response was a lunge at John Heitinga. This incident kicked off another melee in which Wesley Sneijder was booked when he pushed Petit to the floor.

Five minutes after his first caution Deco was sent to the touchline for holding on to the ball when the Dutch players wanted to resume playing.

Twice up by an extra man the Netherlands did not beat the Portuguese goal keeper Ricardo. They went close. Three minutes after half time an unmarked Philip Cocu struck the crossbar in the rebound from six yards. After Deco’s dismissal Dirk Kuyt ran through the central-defense but was foiled by a challenge from the goalkeeper.

In the final of the six minutes of added time Portugal worked another counter attack and Giovanni Van Bronckhorst got tangled with Simao’s legs. Ivanov produced his fourth red card.

The victory for Portugal put them on a head-to-head with England in the quarter-finals, but at a cost. Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side would miss Deco and Costinha with suspensions for that match while Ronaldo would be an injury worry.

Where To Find Quality Used Rims

byadmin

If you are looking to customize your car, you have several different options. There are only so many vehicles in the world, so you need to make yours stand out in different ways. Choosing some quality used rims is a great way to make a statement. If you are considering buying your rims used, you need to make sure you choose a team of professionals as your supplier. Don’t buy your rims from just anywhere. You need to buy them from professional mechanics.

Buy from Mechanics

When you are choosing used rims, you should make sure you buy them from quality mechanics who do more than just sell rims. It’s even better if they do quality tire work and body repairs. Such experience means they will know precisely how to place a tire on the rim and balance your vehicle. They’ll also be able to assess the rims for any kind of problem that might arise. There are sometimes small structural problems with rims that might go unnoticed if someone is not a mechanic.

Wide Selection

You should choose a company that has a wide selection of rims. The Tire Shop is an example of just such a place. They have several different options available that are constantly being updated.

Choosing Rims

Choosing which rims are right for you can be somewhat difficult as well. There are some considerations you have to make. First, you have to choose which size rims you need. If you want bigger rims that are more dramatic, you’re going to need to make sure you have enough space in your wheel wells for them. You would also need thinner tires.

Next, you’ll need to decide on brake calipers and possible adjustments to some other parts of your vehicle. All of these factors are important for you to consider when you talk with a mechanic about getting new rims.
